John Edward White
1928-2012
John Edward White passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Theo White, and siblings, Mary Lewis and Helen Haas. He is survived by loving wife of 32 years, Betty, and his children, Susan (Randy) Thorn, and John White; sister, Clara Hamm; stepson, Fred (Kathy) Burkett; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jackie (Tyler), Ryne, and Brad, and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Hailee.
John attended Oklahoma A&M College and graduated from TulaneUniversity with a BBA and University of West Florida with MBA. He retired from the US Navy after 23 years of service as a naval aviator at the rank of Lt. Commander. John then went on to retire from the University of West Florida as a professor of accounting. He also had a successful certified public accounting firm retiring in 2009. John was a devoted member to Ferry Pass United Methodist Church.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Ferry Pass United Methodist Church with Pastors Timothy Trent and Norman Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
